The Raptors managed two runs of their own in the seventh but couldn\u2019t keep pace to extend their season.<\/p>\n<p>Bradley Dean keyed the Mustangs\u2019 effort by pitching a complete game in the win with 13 strikeouts against eight hits, two runs and four earned runs allowed. He also added two hits and scored two runs to help his cause.<\/p>\n<p>Tanner Van Driel also had two hits, while Spencer Neugebauer and Parker Mandel each drove in two runs for Mount Vernon. The Mustangs had eight total hits but also worked eight walks.<\/p>\n<p>Landon Waddell lasted eight innings in his start on the mound for the Raptors, striking out nine batters while yielding eight hits, eight walks and six earned runs. Bryce Smart had two hits for Dimock\/Emery, which got two runs batted in apiece from Josh Engquist and Dane Toman.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the threat of inclement weather in the forecast for Thursday, District 5B has moved up two elimination contests to Wednesday night in Platte. Mount Vernon will be right back at the ballpark to play the tournament host Platte in a state tournament qualification game at approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday. Prior, the Parkston Mudcats will play Winner\/Colome at 6 p.m. in another qualification game.<\/p>\n<p>                            Pheasants eliminate Horned Frogs<\/p>\n<p>A quick start from Corsica wasn\u2019t enough to fend off Winner\/Colome, as the Pheasants earned an 11-4 win in a District 5B elimination contest on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Horned Frogs jumped ahead 3-0 through two innings, but Winner\/Colome scored five runs in the third and four more in the fourth to take a 9-4 lead that was never threatened. The Pheasants blanked Corsica over the final five frames in a game that featured 11 total errors.<\/p>\n<p>Individual statistics were not available for either team.<\/p>\n<p>Winner\/Colome will return to the park to face the Parkston Mudcats in a qualification game at 6 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>                            Other amateur baseball action from Tuesday<\/p>\n<p>District 3B \u2014 Colome 19, Winner Demons 10, at Chamberlain: In a game that featured 38 total hits and 10 walks, Colome used a fast start to punch its ticket to the state tournament on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Shea Connot and Carter Dye each tallied four hits and three RBIs to power the Chaos, as Carter Brickman had three hits, two walks, two RBIs and scored five runs. Jake Luse earned the win in a 4 2\/3-inning relief effort. For Winner, Gavin Risse had four hits and four RBIs, while Parker Bailey, Quincy Phillips and Ashton Klein all had three hits. The Demons out-hit Colome 20 to 18 but committed five errors to the Chaos\u2019 one. Phillips was also the pitcher of record in the loss after going three innings in his start. Winner is still alive and will play Burke in the District 3B last-chance game on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>District 4B \u2014 Dell Rapids PBR 7, Canova 1, in Humboldt: Drew Sweeter kept Canova in check from the pitcher\u2019s mound, and a four-run second inning carried Dell Rapids PBR past Canova in the District 4B semifinals on Tuesday. Riley Calhoon collected four hits, as Zach Puetz and Weston Hansen each added two hits for PBR. Sweeter smacked a solo home run and earned a complete game win on the mound, yielding six hits and one walk with four strikeouts. For Canova, Jackson Remmers and Jared Miller each had two hits, while Kalub Carmichael drove in the lone run for the Gang. Luke Koepsell was the pitcher of record, lasting five innings in his start. Top-seeded PBR will play its cross-town rival, the Dell Rapids Mudcats, for the District 4B title on Saturday. The Mudcats crushed Madison 11-0 in Tuesday\u2019s other semifinal. Canova moves to the elimination bracket to play either the Humboldt\/Hartford Wood Ducks or Flandreau Cardinals in a qualification game on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the threat of inclement weather in the forecast for Thursday, District 4B has moved up two elimination contests to Wednesday night in Humboldt. The Humboldt\/Hartford Wood Ducks will play the Flandreau Cardinals at 6 p.m., followed by Salem versus the Humboldt\/Hartford Gamecocks.<\/p>\n<p>District 6B \u2014 Tabor 12, Lesterville 2 (8 inn.), in Menno: The Bluebirds pounded out 14 hits, including six for extra bases, to take out Lesterville via the 10-run rule in an eight-inning District 6B semifinal on Tuesday. Josiah Peterson notched four hits and two RBIs while also providing seven shutout innings on the mound, where he surrendered just one hit and no walks with nine strikeouts. Hunter Hallock, Chase Kortan and Joey Slama all offered two hits, as Hallock led the team with three RBIs. Dawson Bietz had a hit and two RBIs for the Broncs. Derek Quame took the pitching loss in a five-inning start.
