Tuesday\u2019s excruciating win in Pittsburgh marked the two-third point of the schedule, meaning it\u2019s time for another check in, and see how things have gone over the fifty-four games since we last checked in<\/a>. Below, you\u2019ll find details of the various lines, the projected figure so far, and whether it\u2019s over or under the anticipated line. If that\u2019s in bold, it has changed since last time. You will also see figures in brackets, which are the total amount bet over and under the line in question. All figures are through the completion of game #108, played on July 28.<\/p>\n

D-backs Wins: 80.5 (2070-1200) – 84, OVERLovullo ejections: 2.5 (1490-0) – 1.5, UNDERMLB Debuts: 4.5 (2500-0) – 12, OVER LOCKED<\/p>\n

No changes in any of the lines, but a rough July definitely moved the wins total down. The D-backs went 11-16 from games #55-81, though rebounded with 15-12 over the next tranche of games. Lovullo also picked up his first ejection of the year (below). It came in a game against San Diego, where he took exception to a balk call made by home plate umpire Willie Traynor. However, he still needs two more to get over the line, and it does appear the arrival of ABS had led to managers being chiller. Finally, a slew of debuts: LuJames Groover, Jose Cabrera, Mitch Bratt, Kohl Drake and Gerardo Carrillo have pushed this well over the line, with two months left.<\/p>\n

Carroll Hits – 138.5 (850-0) – 147, OVERCarroll SB – 33.5 (900-0) – 21, UNDERCarroll HR – 22.5 (1200-600) – 22.5, ON THE LINECarroll RBI – 80.5 (0-0) – 75, UNDERCarroll Runs – 100.5 (600-0) – 94.5, UNDER<\/p>\n

Bit of a struggle for Corbin since we last checked in. His overall line in the second third of the season has been just .209\/.296\/.408 for a .704 OPS. That\u2019s not good, especially by Carroll\u2019s own high standards. That is reflected in the counting stats, which were as follows: 43 hits, 7 stolen bases, 8 home-runs, 22 RBI and 29 runs scored. All of those except HR are under the necessary pace, with the RBI and runs being particularly underwhelming. He has been a bit better since the break, with an .851 OPS across eleven games. Four SB and nine runs are particularly of note. But it\u2019d help on many levels if MVP Corbin were to show up for the rest of the way.<\/p>\n

Marte Hits – 139.5 (390-0) – 159, OVERMarte HR – 27.5 (300-900), 28.5, OVERMarte RBI – 79.5 (250-300), 91.5, OVERMarte BA – .280 (600-300), .253, UNDERMarte Runs – 89.5 (0-0), 87, UNDER<\/p>\n

Last time, we said \u201cKetel is back, in no uncertain form.\u201d Yeah, about that\u2026 Like Carroll, the results in the second third were mediocre, Marte\u2019s line being .234\/.289\/.430 for a .719 OPS. The hits are fine, at 50, and 10 HR have moved that pace above the line. But the batting average now almost seems a lost cause – .253 is the second-lowest figure of Marte\u2019s career, ahead only of his 2022 campaign. And scoring just 24 runs over the last 54 games has dropped that one below expectations. Though that one remains close enough it could still rebound between now and the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Perdomo HR – 17.5 (1200-600) – 12, UNDERPerdomo RBI – 68.5 (2400-0) – 55.5, UNDERPerdomo BA – .275 (1500-0) – .231, UNDERPerdomo Runs – 80.5 (900-0) – 78, UNDER<\/p>\n

A little bit of a rebound for Perdomo in most of these categories. His line since last time is .241\/.371\/.377 for a .748 OPS which is a clear improvement over the .667 OPS posted by Geraldo through the first 54 games. The six home-runs is particularly better, compared to the\u2026 uh, two managed last time. But it\u2019s still going to take a further, and generally considerable surge for any of these to reach the line. Runs has the best shot: Perdomo crossed home-plate thirty times in the middle third, and if he does it again over the last third, that would get him to 82 runs for the season. The house would be happier if that did not take place, however\u2026<\/p>\n

Kelly Wins – 10.5 (450-750) – 12, OVERGallen Wins – 11.5 (850-600) – 4.5, UNDERGallen K\u2019s – 170.5 (0-150), 91.5, UNDERPfaadt Wins – 10 (1200-300), 7.5, UNDERSaves leader: 14.5 (1050-1800), 36, OVER LOCKED<\/p>\n

No changes in lines here, but some interesting moves. Probably none more so than Brandon Pfaadt. On June 29, after 84 games of the season, he still had zero wins on the season. Had the bullpen not melted down on Tuesday, he\u2019d have six and be on pace for 9. As is, he still needs five wins to hit the line, with likely 10 or 11 starts remaining. But the way he has pitched since returning from Reno, that certainly is not impossible. Take a drink if you bet the over on a Zac Gallen line, because you might as well have flushed your money. The saves line got locked a while ago, but I\u2019ve a strong feeling Paul Sewald\u2019s current 24 is going to be the leader at season\u2019s end.<\/p>\n

Note that because they\u2019re exactly on the line, Carroll HR bets are currently off the board and not counted as wins or losses in the overall stats. That will sort itself out over the remaining games. Here are the full standings.<\/p>\n

No change at either end of the standings, with Xerostomia holding firm at +S$1000, and Diamondbacks equally unmoved at -$1500. However, there are some shufflings in the middle. smurf1000 loses his edge on Carroll HR, and with that bet no longer counted, drops into a tie with Imstillhungry95 for second place. Still all to play for, across the final 54 games of the season!
