Minter to Minnesota<\/a> in exchange for two prospects, Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick. AP Photo\/Abbie Parr<\/p>\n<p>The Twins entered Friday third in the AL Central, three games behind the White Sox and one behind the Guardians \u2014 just one game back from a playoff spot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019d be awesome if it was very dramatic just in the other direction. AP Photo\/Abbie Parr<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnything you can add to this team, I think it\u2019s going to be a boost emotionally for us on a team that\u2019s already thriving and having so much fun in the clubhouse,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>One name swirling around trade rumors has been catcher Ryan Jeffers, one of the potential best available options for teams looking to upgrade their backstop. He\u2019s on an expiring contract and could help Minnesota acquire more pitching options.<\/p>\n<p>General manager Jeremy Zoll stated this week that the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/29\/sports\/twins-plan-to-buyers-with-clear-focus-in-trade-deadline-shifting-stance\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">team\u2019s goal is to add and not subtract<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to focus on finding to continue to improve the bullpen and that\u2019ll be a clear focus,\u201d Zoll said. \u201cBeyond that, we\u2019re going to be open to a variety of creative paths, and you never know what might come about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That should please Lewis.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Twins are looking poised to compete down the stretch.
