Upon reaching first base, he signalled to a Red Sox player that he wanted the ball so it could be taken out of the game.<\/p>\n<p data-async=\"\"><a data-evt-val=\"{\" control_fields=\"\" link=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/nesn\/status\/2087690211769663811?s=46\" data-evt=\"click\" data-evt-typ=\"click\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/x.com\/nesn\/status\/2087690211769663811?s=46<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is often done when a player hits a milestone or a record is broken. The Red Sox player obliged and threw the ball to Guerrero, who was standing at first base. Shortstop Andres Gimenez was seen laughing at Guerrero\u2019s joke.<\/p>\n<p>Even Blue Jays broadcasters Dan Shulman and Joe Siddall were confused, initially wondering what the milestone was. They quickly realized Guerrero was just making fun of himself.<\/p>\n<p data-async=\"\">Guerrero\u2019s offensive woes have been <a data-evt-val=\"{\" control_fields=\"\" link=\"\" documented=\"\" this=\"\" season=\"\" data-evt=\"click\" data-evt-typ=\"click\" href=\"https:\/\/torontosun.com\/sports\/baseball\/toronto-blue-jays\/mark-carney-message-fans-vladimir-guerrero\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">well documented this season<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-async=\"\">Heading into Wednesday\u2019s game, Guerrero was batting .262 <a data-evt-val=\"{\" control_fields=\"\" link=\"\" seven=\"\" home=\"\" runs=\"\" data-evt=\"click\" data-evt-typ=\"click\" href=\"https:\/\/torontosun.com\/sports\/baseball\/toronto-blue-jays\/guerrero-homers-in-return-lukes-belt-lifts-jays\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with seven home runs<\/a>, 46 RBIs and a .695 OPS. His power numbers remain well below expectations for one of baseball\u2019s biggest stars.
