However, they seem to have paid a price for it. <\/p>\n<p>Vlad Guerrero Jr. is a huge star and a key piece for the Blue Jays. In 2025, Guerrero and the Jays were just one win away from a legendary World Series win.<\/p>\n<p>This season hasn\u2019t been near as good, though. And another setback could be on the cards. He managed to get the crucial score for his team, but it seems the hit really affected him. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the game, Blue Jays manager John Schneider provided an update on the first baseman\u2019s situation and the idea behind taking him out of the game. <\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;He got hit pretty good with the knee from Lombard in the head, so they&#8217;re checking him out\u2026 Kind of precautionary right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>John Schneider says Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will undergo concussion testing after exiting the game against the Yankees. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qQsxoo9KDt\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/qQsxoo9KDt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Sportsnet\/status\/2088469981977596054?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">August 15, 2026<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>View Tweet<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChecking him out,\u201d Schneider told reporters after the game. \u201cHe got hit pretty good with the knee from Lombard in the head, so they\u2019re checking him out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had a little bit of a headache. The Blue Jays will have been hoping a late surge from him could help turn the season around.
