\n\tThe Miami Marlins welcomed 21 new players to their organization via the 2026 MLB Draft. Historically, they have been quick to test draftees in official Minor League Baseball games shortly after signing them, but the process has been different this summer. As of Monday, only three members of the 2026 class are active with Marlins MiLB affiliates, and Fish On First has learned that none of the pitchers are expected to take the mound against minor league competition until 2027.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSS\u00a0Jacob Lombard<\/a>\u00a0(Round 1):\u00a0Lombard has posted a .194\/.362\/.361 slash line in ten games for the Low-A Jupiter Hammerheads. The first-rounder has recorded seven hits, two home runs, seven RBIs, eight walks, eight runs scored, five stolen bases, and a .723 OPS. Fresh out of high school, the 18-year-old shortstop is younger than every pitcher that he’s faced thus far, so it is not too surprising to see that strikeouts have been an issue (36.2 K%).\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\tLHP\u00a0Ethan Kleinschmit (Round 2): No MiLB games yet\n<\/p>\n \n\tRHP\u00a0Ryan Peterson (Competitive Balance Round B): No MiLB games yet\n<\/p>\n \n\tSS\u00a0Cam Kozeal<\/a>\u00a0(Round 3): The University of Arkansas product has a .214\/.313\/.405 slash line in ten games for Low-A Jupiter. Kozeal has recorded nine hits, two doubles, two home runs, three RBIs, six walks, six runs scored, and a .718 OPS. Although announced as a shortstop on draft day, he isn’t getting any playing time at the position yet as the Hammerheads are prioritizing Lombard and Luis Arana.
