The New York Yankees notched their second straight win Tuesday night, edging the Cleveland Guardians 3-2. The mini streak comes on the heels of back-to-back losses and a win in a tough road series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Despite the close score, the night\u2019s big story wasn\u2019t Aaron Judge\u2019s bat. The Yankees\u2019 offense managed just three runs, but it was more than enough, thanks to a stellar outing from veteran left-hander Carlos Rodon.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old lefty delivered seven strong innings to earn his eighth win of the season, and a fresh nickname courtesy of the Yankees’ social media team:<\/p>\n

“D\u00f3n Dominance.”<\/p>\n

Rodon threw 93 pitches and faced 26 batters. He gave up just five hits and one earned run while striking out eight and walking only one.<\/p>\n

The win moved him to 8-3 on the season with an impressive 2.49 ERA. Over his last four starts, Rod\u00f3n has been locked in: 25 innings pitched, 14 hits allowed, only two earned runs.<\/p>\n

Rodon debuted in 2015 with the Chicago White Sox and remained with the club through the 2021 season. He spent a year with the San Francisco Giants before signing with the Yankees ahead of the 2023 season.<\/p>\n

In 210 career games (205 starts), Rodon owns an 82-66 record with a 3.77 ERA. He\u2019s tallied 1,296 strikeouts and issued just 430 walks.<\/p>\n

Mark Leiter and Devin Williams each pitched an inning in relief to close out the win. Williams earned his sixth save of the season.<\/p>\n

The Yankees have two more against the Guardians this week, before they welcome their long-time rivals from Boston to town for a weekend series.<\/p>\n
