{"id":796218,"date":"2026-09-04T06:36:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T06:36:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/796218\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T06:36:19","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T06:36:19","slug":"andy-pages-making-rapid-progress-toward-dodgers-return-after-surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/796218\/","title":{"rendered":"Andy Pages Making Rapid Progress Toward Dodgers Return After Surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages had surgery just over a week ago on his hand after getting hit by a 100 mph fastball, but he is already making notable progress in his recovery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pages suffered a fracture in his left hand, leaving him in a good amount of pain after the fact, and despite his effort to play through it, <a href=\"https:\/\/dodgersnation.com\/andy-pages-leaves-game-with-wrist-injury-vs-pirates\/2026\/08\/21\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he was pulled from the August 22nd game against the Pittsburgh Pirates<\/a> early and found to have a broken hand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This season, Pages has been an All-Star and one of the better Dodgers players in a season where not many others have really gotten going.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With his elite glove work and improved contact hitting, Pages is a key cog in the Dodgers machine, and it seems like his return is a matter of time at this point.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/andy-pages.jpg\" alt=\"Aug 21, 2026; Los Angeles, California, USA; Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages (44) is hit by a pitch in the third inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-Imagn ImagesWhere is Andy Pages in his recovery?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During an appearance on \u201cDodgers Talk\u201d with David Vassegh, Dodgers hitting coach Aaron Bates shared that Pages will start swinging \u201d pretty soon\u201d and that Pages does not feel any pain at this point.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe hasn\u2019t swung yet as far as hitting a ball. But he said I think it was the next couple of days or so he was going to practice,\u201d Bates said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s just dry swings at first. There\u2019s a progression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dodgersnation.com\/andy-pages-to-miss-weeks-for-dodgers-after-suffering-hand-fracture\/2026\/08\/21\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pages\u2019 outlook was 4-to-5 weeks<\/a> when he initially suffered the injury, putting him in line to return for the final week of action before the postseason starts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It won\u2019t be as many games as anyone would like before jumping into the playoffs, but it will be better than returning straight from the injured list.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Pages\u2019 value to the Dodgers<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dodgersnation.com\/who-is-the-dodgers-1st-half-mvp-fans-make-their-picks\/2026\/07\/16\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The outfielder boasts 3.9 fWAR and a 119 wRC+<\/a> for the season.
