KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) \u2014 The Toronto Blue Jays placed pitcher Jameson Taillon on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation Saturday, a day after his abbreviated return from the IL.<\/p>\n
The 34-year-old starter was pulled after two innings against the Kansas City Royals and sent for an MRI. The team is seeking a second opinion on the imaging, and manager John Schneider said the Blue Jays haven’t ruled out Taillon for the season.<\/p>\n
Taillon was making his first appearance since Aug. 10, when he went on the IL with right forearm tendinitis. The right-hander allowed one run and two hits in two innings before leaving.<\/p>\n
Taillon is 2-6 this season with a 5.65 ERA in 18 starts. He has pitched 10 innings over three games since being acquired from the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 2.<\/p>\n
Toronto (72-71) pulled even with Cleveland in the race for the final American League wild card Saturday night with a 4-3 victory over the Royals.<\/p>\n
