PHOENIX \u2013 Kim Kardashian is turning the eyes of reality television toward a nondescript, little-known stone building just off the Loop 101 in north Scottsdale.<\/p>\n

After the show was announced<\/a> on Aug. 18, the official Paramount+ YouTube channel released a trailer<\/a> on Wednesday for “Team Moms: Baseball,” a series that delves into the lives of seven Scottsdale socialites whose sons compete at Legendary Prep Academy in Scottsdale. The show is set to debut on Sep. 24.<\/p>\n

“Scottsdale is my happy place,” one of the mothers says as the trailer opens amid Scottsdale’s glitzy backdrop. “But we definitely have parents who are insane. Because our sons love baseball.”<\/p>\n

Kardashian, star and creator of one of reality TVs most infamous shows, is serving as the executive producer in a collaboration between Kim Kardashian Productions, Skydance Sports and ITV America, the production company behind popular shows such as “Love Island USA” and “Hell’s Kitchen.”<\/p>\n

The trailer featured several clips of heated conflict between the mothers, both in the grandstands and away from the baseball diamond. Concerns have been raised about the show’s focus on athletes younger than 18.<\/p>\n

Maricopa County District 2 Supervisor Thomas Galvin condemned the series in a tweet published Wednesday, and stood by his stance when asked for comment.<\/p>\n

“Supervisor Galvin is fiercely proud of Scottsdale and its great culture of youth sports,” Galvin’s spokesperson Taylor Kinnerup wrote in a statement. “But he’s particularly outraged by Paramount and Kim Kardashian prominently displaying children in the trailer, which raises concerns about exploitation.”<\/p>\n

The parents featured in the show include Rylee Baldri, who is a former Mrs. Arizona United States, Melanie Dunmar, a current executive for casino gaming supplier Design Works Gaming, and Trish Mears, wife of professional race car driver Casey Mears.<\/p>\n

Legendary Prep Academy is a baseball training and development center located less than five miles from TPC Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Airport. The organization operates a 24,000 square-foot facility and offers year-round services for athletes in sixth through 12th grades. The school’s nickname is the Outlaws, which is written in giant letters on one side of the building.<\/p>\n

According to the academy’s website<\/a>, which loudly bills itself as “where elite athletes are made,” the list of available amenities includes an online charter school, daily meals, an on-site barber and arm care programs.<\/p>\n

The staff is led by coach Mark Karaviotis, a former baseball player for Oregon and the Arizona Diamondbacks, and hitting coordinator Joe Dunigan, a former Division I player for Oklahoma and a current Houston Astros scout.<\/p>\n

Despite opening just 18 months ago, the academy claims that it has helped 12 players receive offers at the Div. I, Div. II and the junior college levels.<\/p>\n

This show is another addition to the trend of reality series focusing on the lives of athletes and their families, both on and off the field. HBO’s “Hard Knocks” remains a staple of sports reality television after 27 seasons, while several series under Netflix such as “Full Swing,” “Quarterback” and “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” have become streaming sensations.<\/p>\n
