{"id":804343,"date":"2026-09-13T23:54:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-13T23:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/804343\/"},"modified":"2026-09-13T23:54:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-13T23:54:15","slug":"nationals-rally-to-complete-sweep-of-angels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/804343\/","title":{"rendered":"Nationals rally to complete sweep of Angels"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WASHINGTON\u00a0\u2014\u00a0Daylen Lile tripled to key a four-run rally in the eighth inning, Jacob Young and Dylan Crews added RBIs and the Washington Nationals beat the Angels <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/gameday\/angels-vs-nationals\/2026\/09\/13\/822682\/final\/box\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">6-5 on Sunday<\/a> to complete a three-game sweep.<\/p>\n<p>The Angels <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/standings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">dropped to 56-93<\/a> and must win at least seven of its last 13 games to avoid its first 100-loss season.<\/p>\n<p>Washington improved to 3-61 when trailing after seven innings, sweeping <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/angels\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Angels<\/a> for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Erik Tolman (1-1) threw a run-scoring wild pitch and Mois\u00e9s Ballesteros hit a sacrifice fly that put the Angels ahead 4-2 in the eighth.<\/p>\n<p>Yohandy Morales singled off Luke Murphy (0-3) starting the eighth and Lile triple and pinch-hitter Jorbit Vivas hit an RBI single that tied the score 4-4. Young hit a go-ahead double that chased Murphy and Crews hit a two-out RBI single.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Sinclair got his first professional save, allowing Christian Moore\u2019s run-scoring groundout.<\/p>\n<p>Mois\u00e9s Ballesteros and Zach Neto hit solo homers for the Angels.
