Former New York Mets pitcher Craig Kimbrel\u2019s younger brother has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Alabama.<\/p>\n
Matt Kimbrel, 36, died in a hospital after he smashed at high speed into a dump truck that was exiting Highway 432 in Huntsville, Alabama, at around 8 a.m. Saturday, WCTV reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n The pitcher\u2019s brother couldn\u2019t slow down in time and slammed into the back of the truck, officials said.<\/p>\n Matt Kimbrel, the younger brother of Craig Kimbrel, died in a motorbike accident on Saturday. Matthew Kimbrel \/ Facebook<\/p>\n An investigation is continuing into the crash that killed the younger brother, who was drafted by the Atlanta Braves and played in the minor leagues.<\/p>\n However, no criminal charges are expected to be filed, according to reports.<\/p>\n He was killed a month after his brother Craig, 38, signed with the Kansas City Royals<\/a>, the 12th MLB team he\u2019s played for in his professional career. <\/p>\n Craig Kimbrel made 14 appearances for the New York Mets this year. The veteran reliever appeared in 14 games for the Mets. <\/p>\n Craig was drafted by the Braves in the 33rd round in 2007. He was called up by the team in 2010.<\/p>\n By 2011, he made the team\u2019s roster and won Rookie of the Year after breaking the club\u2019s rookie records for the most amount saves in a season.
