As it stands, Kalshi traders favor the Braves at 57% to knock out the Phillies and the Padres at 57% to topple the Cubs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Should they advance, the teams await the reigning champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the league\u2019s best regular season team, the Milwaukee Brewers in the Divisional Series.<\/p>\n

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies odds: Braves hold the edge<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Atlanta Braves claimed the NL East crown this season, dispatching the Phillies in nine of their 13 total head-to-head in the process.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But the Phillies will now have the opportunity to redeem themselves when it matters most. To do so though, they\u2019ll need to find a way through the Braves in a best-of-three series on the road at Truist Park where the Braves held a 52-29 record this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Phillies complicated matters for themselves at the tail end of the regular season, needing to rely on right-hander Zack Wheeler in the final game of the year just to clinch a playoff spot. As such, Wheeler\u2019s availability in the upcoming series is in question as they travel to Atlanta.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Instead of Wheeler, the Phillies will start left-hander Jesus Luzardo in game one, who is being used as an opener after returning from a shoulder injury, according to beat writer Matt Gelb<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Braves on the other hand will get to use their ace, Chris Sale, in the opening game. Sale went 4-0 in four starts against the Phillies this season<\/a>, and even at age 37, was dominant this season. The lefty pitched to a 2.16 ERA over the course of 162 innings, finishing with another year of at least 200 strikeouts.\u00a0<\/p>\n Game two on Wednesday might provide more clarity for the Phillies, who could use Christopher Sanchez on regular rest against likely starter Tyler Mahle of the Braves.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Phillies have found a way to win each of their last three postseason series against the Braves, but the team has not ever won a playoff series after dropping game one, according to a report from The Athletic<\/a>. That might make Tuesday\u2019s makeshift pitching game even more important.\u00a0<\/p>\n San Diego Padres vs. Chicago Cubs odds: Padres favored in Wild Card rematch<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Last season, the Chicago Cubs defeated the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field in the final game of the Wild Card Series, advancing to the next round where they fell against the Milwaukee Brewers.\u00a0<\/p>\n This season, the teams will square off in search of the same prize, a trip to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers in the NLDS. The only difference is the games will take place in San Diego this year, with the Padres favored at 52% to take the best-of-three series<\/a>, according to Kalshi traders.\u00a0<\/p>\n Beyond home field advantage, some of that edge may be a result of their recent performances.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Padres stormed from the edge of the playoff picture into the top Wild Card spot over the course of the last month, finishing September with an 18-6 record. The Cubs on the other hand, floundered as the season came to a close, finishing their final month of the regular season with just an 11-13 record.\u00a0<\/p>\n When the two teams square off on Tuesday, it will be Michael King taking the ball for the Padres in a game where Kalshi traders make them a 55% favorite<\/a>. The Cubs meanwhile have not yet named their game one starter, though could decide between left-hander Matthew Boyd, or right-handers Kevin Gausman or Clay Holmes.\u00a0<\/p>\n In game two and beyond, the Padres can rely on recently returned Nick Pivetta, or Walker Buehler and Robbie Ray. Regardless, the team will likely lean heavily on their flamethrowing bullpen, which is anchored by shutdown closer Mason Miller.\u00a0<\/p>\n Though the teams have been trending in different directions, it was the Cubs who took five of six games during the regular season.\u00a0<\/p>\n The first playoff matchup between the two will begin at 10:00pm ET on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n Dodgers, Brewers remain World Series favorites<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The winner of the Braves and Phillies series will travel to Los Angeles where the Dodgers will maintain home field advantage in the best-of-five Divisional Round. Meanwhile, the winner of the Padres and Cubs will travel to Milwaukee, where it’s the Brewers who will have home field advantage in the next series.\u00a0<\/p>\n Despite a clearer picture on their potential opponents in the next round, Kalshi traders have not budged the odds for the Dodgers and Brewers to win the World Series.
