{"id":819450,"date":"2026-10-02T04:30:21","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T04:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/819450\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T04:30:21","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T04:30:21","slug":"gerrit-cole-relishing-yankees-playoff-return-after-long-road-back-from-tommy-john","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/819450\/","title":{"rendered":"Gerrit Cole relishing Yankees playoff return after long road back from Tommy John"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gerrit Cole hasn\u2019t pitched yet in this postseason, but that is certain to change against the Rays in the ALDS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For Cole, who missed all of last season \u2014 including the playoffs \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/10\/sports\/gerrit-cole-undergoing-tommy-john-surgery-in-yankees-injury-nightmare\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">following Tommy John surgery<\/a>, it will be worth the wait.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis time around, I have a different perspective,\u2019\u2019 Cole said in the celebratory clubhouse late Wednesday night. \u201cHaving missed it last year to now being right in the thick of it. To overcome the obstacles from the surgery and maintain my performance and be in this position after a lot of hard work, it means a little more this year.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cole said of this postseason, \u201cIt\u2019s 2.0.
