For a second consecutive year, they will be facing the team with the most wins in the regular season, that being the Milwaukee Brewers (again).

The Dodgers lived and died by the long ball throughout the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves, with the exception for three runs out of the 14 scored in the four games. None of those blasts was more impactful than Kiké Hernández’s two-run home run against Chris Sale in Game 3, as he helped make the difference in a 3-1 victory, helping the Dodgers gain an advantage over Atlanta in Game 4 to close it out.

Hernández continues to shine when it matters the most, becoming the Dodgers’ secret assassin in October. His presence in the lineup, based on what he’s done in his two games this postseason, is convincing enough for fans to believe in the team’s ability to secure a three peat, per Sonja Chen of MLB.com.

“He converts himself into this kind of monster when it comes to the playoffs and when it matters the most,” Miguel Rojas said. “He wants the situation. In the end, his lack of production wasn’t a drawback that year.

This year, however, represents a different case. Ohtani has not looked like his usual self at the plate, going just 2-13 with two singles and two walks over the four games against the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers have managed to advance without him hitting like a superstar, but Jack Harris of the California Post wonders just how far the Dodgers can go with him hitting the way he has been since the start of September.

For a third consecutive year, the Dodgers have advanced to the National League Championship Series.
