On Saturday, the Chicago White Sox<\/a> lost to the Cleveland Guardians<\/a> by a score of 2-0 in the ALDS.<\/p>\n

With the loss, they have now been eliminated from the 2026 MLB<\/a> playoffs.<\/p>\n

He allowed two hits and no runs.<\/p>\n

Now that their season is over, Newcomb (who is a former Atlanta Braves<\/a> star) will become a free agent<\/a> this winter.<\/p>\n

He will be available to sign with any team in the MLB.<\/p>\n

During the 2019 season, he went 6-3 with a 3.16 ERA in 55 games (four starts).<\/p>\n

The Braves traded him to the Chicago Cubs<\/a> during the middle of the 2022 season.<\/p>\n
