MESA, Arizona \u2014 Five-run outbursts by the no-longer-Oakland A\u2019s in the second off Hunter Greene and third off Brent Suter on Friday afternoon at HoHoKam Stadium sent the Cincinnati Reds<\/a> (3-3-1) to their first Cactus League loss since Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Athletics, who will play their home games in Sacramento this season as a way station before moving to Las Vegas, tacked on late for a 13-1 win Friday.<\/p>\n

Hunter Greene retired the first four batters he faced Friday before a two-out, five-run outburst by the Athletics. Greene allowed three hits, including a home run, and two walks in two innings.<\/p>\n

Hunter Greene \u2018felt good\u2019 in start<\/p>\n

Cincinnati Reds ace Hunter Greene retired the first four batters he faced until an infield single extended the second inning that eventually included a two-out, five-run rally by the A\u2019s \u2014 capped by Lawrence Butler\u2019s three-run homer.<\/p>\n

Greene struck out two and walked two in his second outing of the spring.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was disappointing, but I think in spring being able to just know I felt good and my pitches were great (was important),\u201d he said. \u201cI feel like I could have gone out for five or six (innings) today. My body\u2019s felt so much better than in the past, too, which is exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Third watch: Jeimer Candelario<\/p>\n

The importance of getting the infield right, especially at third base, was underscored in the second inning when third baseman Jeimer Candelario was just slow enough to react on a one-out, slow two-hopper by Miguel Andujar that his throw got to first a half-step late (infield single).<\/p>\n

An ensuing grounder to first that might have otherwise ended the inning, sent Andujar to second. Then the inning got away from Hunter, who walked the next two hitters then gave up a two-run single followed by a three-run homer.<\/p>\n
