The Boston Red Sox seemingly avoided a major setback with one of their (many) rehabbing veterans.<\/p>\n

Kutter Crawford, who has been on the injured list<\/a> since the start of the season with right patellar tendinopathy,\u00a0was scratched from beginning a rehab assignment<\/a>\u00a0before his wrist began giving him trouble. Boston wanted to get it checked right away, so the organization sent him to see a specialist and somewhat suprisingly received good news.<\/p>\n

Crawford\u2019s wrist is just sore, with scans showing zero evidence<\/a> of structural damage,<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s up to him now as (far as) tolerance,\u201d Red Sox manager Alex Cora said\u00a0Friday, per Christopher Smith of MassLive. \u201cNo live (batting practice) scheduled. Just a bullpen and we\u2019ll know more over the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Red Sox desperately need some help in the rotation, as their collective ERA bumped up to 4.00<\/a> on Friday. Can you imagine what it would be without the best pitcher in the American League?<\/p>\n
