Today, the Minnesota Twins<\/a> play the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>. This is convenient, as last weekend I was in Canada as part of my journey to the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n

The trip started in Seattle, home of grunge music…<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I attended the Friday & Saturday night Twins\/Mariners tilts and, quite frankly, they were two of the craziest Twins contests I\u2019ve ever witnessed! The Friday comeback\u2014down three runs heading into the ninth against Andres Munoz and his 0 ER allowed\u2014could very easily end up being the most improbable victory of the season.<\/p>\n

I found Seattle\u2019s T-Mobile Park to be a really nice ballpark. Maybe not in my top tier, but certainly in the one right below it. I even got to see Hot Dogs from Heaven<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Besides the ballpark, I also found\u2014among other Emerald City attractions\u2014the extremely fun Seattle Museum of Popular Culture.<\/p>\n

Seasons 1-2 garb of my favorite Star Trek character\u2014Captain Jean-Luc Picard!<\/p>\n

Another leg of the journey saw my two brothers & I head across the northern border towards Hope, British Columbia. Why such a seemingly obscure small town amongst the Douglas Firs? Well, that was where\u2014in 1982\u2014Ted Kotcheff filmed Sylvester Stallone & Brian Dennehy in the all-time classic movie First Blood.<\/p>\n

The town had an app-based walking tour and many Rambo-themed gift shops\/restaurants. I\u2019d wager 50% of their economy comes from film buffs like myself!<\/p>\n

Overall, it was a great trip and Seattle proved a really nice place to ramble around for a long weekend. A nice waterfront view too…<\/p>\n

Of course, maybe we shouldn\u2019t get too friendly with our neighbors to the north\u2014they are about to sweep us in the States. Hopefully the Twins can salvage a game today behind now-officially-with-Pablo-hurt Ace Ryan.<\/p>\n
