The Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> remain one of the best in baseball. With a record of 40-27 and sitting atop the NL West, it is hard to imagine them needing to buy a big-name piece at the trade deadline. However, with the struggles of outfielder Michael Conforto and lackluster replacements behind him, the Dodgers are in a prime position to add another solid bat to the lineup.<\/p>\n

One name of intrigue is Pittsburgh Pirates<\/a> outfielder Bryan Reynolds. Gabe Smallson of Dodgers Nation<\/a> weighed in on the potential acquisition, noting Reynolds would be an \u201cobvious upgrade over Michael Conforto\u201d if his offense rebounds.<\/p>\n

Reynolds currently holds a higher batting average than Conforto. However, it is his last 21 games that make the move more desirable. Reynolds has seemingly turned the corner after a slow start, mashing .338 with three home runs, 19 RBIs, and a .981 OPS over the last month.<\/p>\n

The question is not if Reynolds fits the Dodgers’ outfield need. He does, but are the Pirates open to trading the two-time All-Star?<\/p>\n

USA Today\u2019s Bob Nightengale<\/a> recently reported that the Pirates are gearing up to be sellers this summer, willing to entertain trade offers on nearly all players except ace Paul Skenes and outfielder Oneil Cruz.<\/p>\n

Nightengale stated that Pittsburgh is \u201cflatly rebuking all interest from teams wanting to engage in trade talks for ace Paul Skenes, but will listen to offers on every other player but him and outfielder Oneil Cruz.\u201d<\/p>\n

That leaves a player like Reynolds, once viewed as a foundational piece of the franchise, available for trade discussions.<\/p>\n

The one caveat to a trade involving Reynolds is his contract. Currently, in the third year of an eight-year, $106.75 million deal, Los Angeles would once again need to pour significant money into a roster already carrying nine of the top 100 highest-paid players in 2025.<\/p>\n
