In the first two games of this series, the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> and Atlanta Braves<\/a> have taken turns holding each other to a single run: in the first game, it was Chris Sale who led the Braves to a 7-1 victory. In game two, Quinn Priester returned the favor as the Brewers won 4-1.<\/p>\n

Today, the winner of this series will be determined in a matchup between the Braves\u2019 Spencer Schwellenbach and the Brewers\u2019 Chad Patrick (in the last start of the pre-Misiorowski era in Milwaukee). Schwellenbach, a 25-year-old right-hander, has had a solid season: he\u2019s currently 4-4 with a 3.24 ERA (126 ERA+) and 3.26 FIP. His superpower is his ability to limit walks; in over 200 innings across the first two seasons of his career, he\u2019s walked just 1.6 batters per nine innings. Schwellenbach is a groundball pitcher who works with a fastball that sits near 97 mph, so things won\u2019t be easy for the Brewers today.<\/p>\n

For the Brewers, Chad Patrick will take the hill after one of his best outings of the season in a 2-0 loss to San Diego on Friday. He\u2019s gone six innings and struck out six in each of his last two starts, and on the season he\u2019s got a 2.84 ERA (139 ERA+) and 3.23 FIP in 69 2\u20443 innings.<\/p>\n

Of note, Christian Yelich remains out of the lineup for the second day in a row. It doesn\u2019t seem to be anything majorly concerning, but Yelich was hit by a pitch in Philadelphia (now almost two weeks ago) and according to Adam McCalvy it\u2019s apparently been swelling up. Another roster note: Aaron Civale has been shifted to bullpen duties for the time being, with Jacob Misiorowski on his way to the big league roster tomorrow. According to Pat Murphy, Civale\u2014an impending free agent\u2014is \u201cnot happy\u201d about the move. Civale is surely a candidate to be traded, but:<\/p>\n
