The Toronto Blue Jays weakest link lately has been pitcher Bowden Francis who has given them their only 3 losses in the last couple weeks.<\/p>\n

Blue Jays have need Bowden Francis to play a lot better<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays have been incredible lately but are still dealing with Francis<\/a> who has been brutal so far this season on the mound but it looks like their hands are currently tied when it comes to moving him.<\/p>\n

While Scherzer is close to returning, the Blue Jays are still not certain if he will be able to battle through the pain or if he will be placed on IL once again which is a big reason for why they can’t move Bowden Francis.<\/p>\n

“The fact that they’re willing to live with Francis’ struggles tells you everything about where they are,\u00bb said ESPN’s Buster Olney on TSN1050’s First Up Tuesday morning. -TSN<\/p>\n

According to Buster Olney, he recently stated that most GMs do not expect there to be a lot of movement at the trade deadline this year because there is not a ton of good available players.<\/p>\n

\u00abWhat the feedback I’m getting right now from executives is they don’t think it’s going to be an especially active time at the trade deadline. They don’t think there’s going to be a lot of action, they don’t think there’s going to be difference-making players that are on the move.” -Olney<\/p>\n

Francis<\/a> is expect to start another game against the Phillies later this week which his last outing against them in Toronto did not go so well but if he cannot find a way to at least get on solid win this month, the Blue Jays will not have a choice but to drop him.<\/p>\n

Francis is tentatively scheduled for his next start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, but the leash on the 29-year-old will continue to tighten as the Blue Jays look to avoid falling out of the mix in a competitive American League wild card picture. -TSN<\/p>\n
