As the Atlanta Braves continue to underperform in a season that began with World Series aspirations, speculation about potential organizational changes is heating up.<\/p>\n

During the MLB Insider Scoops<\/a> segment on Bleacher Report, Jon Heyman suggested that a significant shift could be on the horizon if Atlanta doesn’t turn things around.<\/p>\n

“Sniter basically told me a couple of months ago, if it’s going great, he’s going to stay. If not, he’s certainly willing to move on,” Heyman said. “At this point, I’d say there’s a decent chance if they don’t turn it around, that Snitker will retire. Not fired, but retire.”<\/p>\n

Snitker, 69, has led the Braves since 2016 and guided them to a World Series in 2021. While his job security hasn’t been publicly questioned, Heyman’s remarks imply the decision could ultimately rest with the veteran skipper himself.<\/p>\n

The Braves offense has failed to meet expectations. They currently rank 19th in batting average (.244) and 21st in runs scored (273). On the mound, their numbers are better but still middle-of-the-pack – 11th in ERA (4.73) and WHIP (1.22).<\/p>\n

With the trade deadline approaching and postseason hopes<\/a> hanging in the balance, Atlanta may soon be forced to make tough decisions, including who’s leading the team moving forward.<\/p>\n
