We’re less than two weeks away from the 2025 NBA draft, and barring something shocking, former Duke star Cooper Flagg will be the first overall pick.
That’s the Dallas Mavericks‘ selection to make after they won the draft lottery and earned the No. 1 pick. The franchise traded superstar Luka Doncic away earlier this offseason, and it should now have a new face in the former Blue Devil.
Flagg has been the projected first pick throughout the pre-draft process and even dating back to high school, when he was the top prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. And while we still await the formality of Dallas drafting him, it may have already leaked its intentions.
The Mavericks seem to have mistakenly published a graphic on their website announcing the selection of Flagg. The team presumably did not mean to upload the image before the selection is made official, but it’s already preparing for the pick.
Flagg will await the official announcement of his draft selection in the 2025 NBA draft, which will be held on June 25 in New York.
