John Gambidoro, I’ve mentioned him on the most recent podcast we did after game 4, I think it was, where he reported that he doesn’t think the Spurs will get KD unless they give up Castle or #2.

So, Gamble has been on top of everything.
He’s been ahead of the curve on all this reporting about Durant, and that would mean that the Rockets or the Wolves are giving up a good young player in the deal.
That would mean the like Tim Tim Wolves could be giving up Rob Dillingham and or Terrence Shannon, like even like a Leonard Miller, somebody like that who’s had a really good two years in the league, even though he hasn’t got much of a chance in the NBA.
It could mean that the Rockets are giving up.
Not just Jalen Green, but maybe they’re open to giving up Reed Shepherd.
It’s possible, like the Rockets also have a ton of draft capital too, a lot of highly valuable picks, including the Suns’ first round picks, so.

Look, if, if that’s true, if that’s what is on the table for 37 year old Kevin Durant with one year remaining on his contract, then yeah, maybe the Spurs would have to give up Castle, and ultimately maybe they deemed the price too high because it’d be too much in the now and not enough in the future.
And I’d be perfectly understanding of that.
I, I think you could argue.
The Spurs never should have traded for Fox.
I understand why they did.
I think it was the right decision to trade for Fox.
He came at a low cost.
I’m just saying there’s an argument to be made that D’An Fox is like the 30th best player in the NBA.

He’s the 35th best player in the NBA, something along those lines, and he’s not a clear cut star for Victor, who’s still not in his prime.
Like the Spurs most need to be ready to build when Victor is 25, 26, 27 years old.
He just happens to be so special that they’re trying to also accelerate things a little bit now, and I get it, and they should get KD if the price is right, but to me, the price is not right if it means giving up Stefan Castle.
It is right if it means giving up to Aaron Fox, but not St Stefon Castle with the #2 pick, because you need to retain some future assets alongside Victor Wambanyama.
