In about a week, Cooper Flagg will likely be selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. To celebrate the occasion, his apparel sponsor has already created a new holiday.
On Monday, New Balance officially deemed June 25 as “Flagg day.” That’s the same day the NBA draft is scheduled to begin at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Flagg will reportedly be in the draft’s green room to hear his name called.
As part of its “Flagg day” branding, New Balance shared a social media video that runs down a few of Flagg’s impressive basketball achievements. The 28-second-long video ends with Flagg dribbling a basketball in front of a New Balance flag.

It shouldn’t be too surprising that New Balance is emphasizing Flagg’s upcoming draft selection. According to ESPN, the 6-9 forward signed a shoe endorsement deal with the company in August 2024.
While the Mavericks haven’t specifically said they’re drafting Flagg at No. 1 overall, prominent people like head coach Jason Kidd have expressed excitement toward working with the Duke star. Over the past few weeks, Kidd has given out plenty of praise for the “young man from Duke.”

Flagg will reportedly have a private visit with the Mavericks on Tuesday.
