Every Nuggets fan knows that Nikola Jokic goes off and lives his normal, Serbian life during every NBA offseason with plenty of horse races and rafting trips. With all the talks about Denver’s cap space, lack of draft picks, new coaching staff, general manager hole and more, Jokic isn’t concerning himself with all the issues that have been put on the table since the season ended.
It has been almost a month since the three-time MVP was sent home in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals, and Jokic’s yearly summer appearances are starting to surface, and it looks like he’s just doing his thing. Just a couple of days ago, he was spotted at the horse track — which everyone knows is one of his favorite pastimes — and had a hilarious reaction that should reassure Nuggets fans that if he’s not stressed about NBA basketball, then they shouldn’t either.
“Jokić’s reaction after his horse lost in the final race,” is what the caption translates to.
He looked more nervous in that clip than he did when the Nuggets let up a 8-0 run when he was on the bench for 90 seconds in the second quarter of Game 7!
Jokic owns a horse stable back in his home country of Serbia, and has a handful of horses that compete in a plethora of different races. No, it’s not like the American horse racing seen in the Kentucky Derby, as the horses in these competitions pull their jockey in a cart instead of having the jockey ride their back. He spends a lot of his time around the horses, and even accepted his 2022 MVP award from the stable.

Jokic also recently finished up his annual rafting trip through the Serbian waters, showing that he had more important things on his mind than the NBA Finals (can you blame him?).

Good for the Nuggets big man. While everyone else in the organization is running around with their hair on fire wondering how they’re going to right the wrongs of Calvin Booth and contend for a championship, Jokic is just doing his thing in Serbia, enjoying his summer.
