This episode Josh and I connect to cover a ton of topics in our shortest podcast in weeks.

First, we tie a bow on the Jason Kidd pursuit by the New York Knicks. Shortly after we recorded last week, that news broke, putting an official end to the story. Though I keep saying I won’t be shocked if something weird happens, that’s Kidd’s whole history. We also spend some time talking about the likelihood of a Kyrie Irving extension. Before the break there’s also a lot of questions from the listeners we answered, some really good questions I had a good time talking about.

Following the break (on audio streams at least), Josh starts what may be an off-season campaign for him: explaining why Anthony Davis playing the four is so problematic for the Mavericks. I don’t want to step too much on his argument here, but it’s worth understanding that outside of about 5 feet, his shooting numbers arent good. Josh gets into what they’ve been, we talk about why that’s a challenge for this specific roster, and also try to figure out a way out of the logjam at power forward.

While AD is clearly talented, it’s not his best use. But he may not be able to physically play the five for Dallas. We’ll see where this goes as the off season progresses.
