The New York Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau this offseason after the former Bulls boss guided New York to the Eastern Conference Finals, a six-game series loss to the Indiana Pacers.

The Knicks started off on the wrong foot against Indiana as they lost Game 1 in deflating fashion amid a Tyrese Haliburton game tying shot and Reggie Miller impersonation.
On Tuesday, the Knicks’ coaching search got an update as NBA insider Sam Amick revealed his choice for best fit for the franchise going forward, choosing between two well known names in NBA circles.
Amick’s choice may surprise Knicks fans, but his choice would make sense based on the media spotlight that follows New York coaches around throughout the wealthy and high scrutiny American city.

Talk show host Jim Rome said he is a fan of former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown, who could be a candidate for the Knicks job.

He asked Amick his preference between Brown and former Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins for the Knicks gig, to which Amick had a clear response.
“Memphis is the sleepy little NBA city that everybody forgets about, media barely comes through, not a lot of scrutiny…The spotlight is different.
“Mike has done Cleveland with LeBron, Mike has done LA with Kobe and the Lakers, in terms of media he is a guy who can sit there and talk for 45 minutes at a press conference to the point where reporters are actually done…I would argue that Mike is a better fit,” Amick said, to which Rome agreed.
