While much focus has already gone to this year’s NBA Draft, Kentucky fans can start to look ahead to next year’s edition.
NBA Draft Room has three Kentucky basketball players selected in their 2026 mock draft, including a few new additions.
Jayden Quaintance, a high profile transfer from Arizona State, was the first Wildcat off the board. The 6’10” big was a lottery pick, being drafted eighth overall by the Sacramento Kings (after NBA Draft Room randomized the order).
“A springy big forward with a NBA level frame and athleticism. Is just scratching the surface of his potential,” the website wrote. “The Arizona State transfer gives Kentucky an elite big man who is a likely lottery pick in the 2026 draft.”
Quaintance was the only Wildcat selected in the first round, although two others went in the second. Incoming freshman center Malachi Moreno went 35th overall, adding much needed size to a lackluster Charlotte Hornets team.
Star guard Otega Oweh was the last Wildcat drafted, going 47th overall to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Four other Kentucky players — Jasper Johnson (77), Jaland Lowe (85), Mouhamed Dioubate (122), and Brandon Garrison (177) — made the website’s draft board. Each could see their stock rise as they attempt to make a career at the next level.
