GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WCYB) — The Tusculum University softball team has clinched the seventh seed for the NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Regional Tournament, the association announced Monday. This achievement marks the second time in the program’s history that the Pioneers have been selected for the NCAA postseason event, with their first appearance in 2021.

Tusculum, boasting a 37-17 record, is set to face North Georgia, the tournament’s host and No. 2 seed, on Thursday at 2 p.m. North Georgia, ranked 10th overall, holds a 42-12 record. The teams previously split a doubleheader last month, with the Nighthawks leading the all-time series 11-2 against the Pioneers.
