MURRAY, KY — After seeing Racer Nation first hand, first year Murray State head coach Ryan Miller is eager to experience those fans at a men’s basketball game.
Miller was one of several hundred that found themselves in Omaha, NE this past week to cheer on the Murray State baseball team in the College World Series.
“I already knew they had a passionate fan base,” Miller said in Omaha. “But to see this is shocking. It is amazing to see how they show up to support their Racers.”
The biggest example of that turnout, outside of Charles Schwab Field for the game, was the Racer pregame party that was thrown at ‘Let It Fly Bar’ in downtown Omaha. A standing room only experience showed Miller what can happen when the Racers win.
“If we can build a winner, like we plan on doing, it is exciting for us,” he said. “We are going to show them what we can do and bring a championship level basketball team to these fans.”
Miller and his completely new 15-player team has been on campus throughout the month of June as they work through summer workouts.
