The Oklahoma City Thunder can close out the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 of the 2025 NBA Finals on Thursday night and win their first title since moving to OKC in 2008. The Thunder lead the best-of-seven series, 3-2, but will have to win at Indianapolis to secure the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Meanwhile, the Pacers will fight to extend the series with an ailing Tyrese Haliburton, who is expected to play despite a right calf strain suffered in Game 5.

Powered by league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, fellow All-Star Jalen Williams and a feisty defense, the Thunder are on a two-game win streak in the Finals. Williams exploded for 40 points as OKC forced 23 turnovers in its Game 5 win on Monday. If Gilgeous-Alexander keeps up his steady scoring and the Thunder can win a close-out championship game on the road, SGA may be in line to secure the first regular-season MVP and NBA Finals MVP combo since 2003.

Indiana has lost two straight for the first time this postseason, but returns home where it needs a strong start. The Pacers have trailed after four of their five first quarters, and they turned the ball over seven times in the opening quarter of Game 5. Regardless of Haliburton’s status, the Pacers will once again look to leading scorer Pascal Siakam, who is averaging 21 points per game in the playoffs.

The Thunder enter as a 6.5-point favorite on the road after being almost a double-digit favorite in Game 5. If the Pacers can win at home and force a Game 7, the hopes of their first NBA title in team history will be very much alive.
