Savannah native and LSU senior guard Flau’jae Johnson has been named to the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s AmeriCup Team, joining a group of top collegiate players set to represent the United States later this month in Santiago, Chile.The 12-member roster was announced Thursday and selected by USA Basketball’s Women’s Junior National Team Committee. The team will compete in the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, scheduled for June 28 to July 6, with games against Group B opponents Chile, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.Johnson is one of five players making their USA Basketball competitive debut, alongside Raegan Beers (Oklahoma), Audi Crooks (Iowa State), Gianna Kneepkens (UCLA), and Hannah Stuelke (Iowa). The squad also features several returners with international gold medal experience, including Madison Booker (Texas), Joyce Edwards (South Carolina), and Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame).Johnson is considered a potential 2026 WNBA Draft lottery pick, but chose to return to college for the upcoming season. She averaged a career-high 19 points per game last season and helped lead LSU to a national championship in 2023.
