The Brooklyn Nets head into the 2025 NBA offseason with the chance to significantly improve the roster thanks to their immense draft capital and league-leading cap space for free-agency. Brooklyn has the ability to make plenty of noise this summer, but when it comes to the Draft, it seems like plenty of prospects see a bright future with the Nets.
“One thing I’ve heard consistently over the last few weeks: Brooklyn is the favorite destination for a lot of prospects—and a lot of agents,” NBA Draft expert Rafael Barlowe wrote (h/t to NetsDaily) in his latest article for NBA Big Board on Substack. To Barlowe’s point, there have been some reports suggesting that players like Rutgers forward Ace Bailey could be trying to get to Brooklyn and it’s understandable why.

“The Nets, who currently hold four first round picks in the 2025 NBA Draft, have quietly become one of the most coveted landing spots in the league,” Barlowe continued. “Multiple agents, parents, and prospects have expressed that sentiment to me directly. Brooklyn checks two major boxes: it’s a large market, which has potential off-court appeal in terms of brand deals and exposure, and more importantly—it offers playing time.”
As Barlowe noted, the Nets have four first-round picks to use in the Draft that begins on Wednesday and Brooklyn will likely use most of those picks to add to the roster. With just eight players under contract for next season, the Nets could potentially open up plenty of playing time for incoming players, even if the team keeps forward Cam Johnson and center Nic Claxton on the roster.
24 players saw the floor for Brooklyn in a 2024-25 campaign in which the team finished with a lowly 26-56 record, but head coach Jordi Fernandez fostered a culture of effort and teamwork. With the Nets’ first pick being at eighth overall, a number of prospects could come their way, including Bailey. However, Brooklyn seems to have the kind of setup that many draft prospects would like to be part of.
