Ahead of his own Game 7 in the NBA Finals, Tyrese Haliburton remembered his feelings watching the Cavaliers and Warriors battle it out.
As the Indiana Pacers prepare for what will be the biggest game in their franchise’s history, anticipation is running extremely high.
The Pacers have a chance to win the NBA championship tonight, provided they can topple the mighty Oklahoma City Thunder at home in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Their Game 6 performance was truly incredible. Pascal Siakam was the Pacers’ best player in Game 6, delivering yet another strong outing.
Despite Tyrese Haliburton initially being doubtful due to injury, the Pacers guard played 24 minutes and contributed at a high level.
With a few more days to rest, Haliburton will feel even more confident heading into the game. In the lead-up to the big night, Tyrese Haliburton was asked about the last great Game 7 in the NBA Finals and how he felt watching it.

Speaking to the media ahead of Game 7 of the NBA Finals, Tyrese Haliburton looked back on the last such game in the league.
Reflecting on the Cavaliers and Warriors‘ epic battle, Haliburton spoke about how he watched the game, why he considers it the best basketball game he ever watched as a fan, and why he is excited to add to the history of Game 7s in the NBA.
“That day, I don’t necessarily remember. I remember what the game was like, the energy of the game, being with my friends, and watching it all together.
“There was a mixture of Cavs fans, a mixture of Warriors fans, but I think it’s probably one of the greatest games I’ve ever been able to watch as a basketball fan.
“That’s what makes Game 7 so fun, and I think that, especially for people around my age, that is the peak Game 7. So I’m excited to add to the story of history of Game 7s and add to the history of our game.”
Hali on what he remembers from Cavs/Warriors Game 7 in 2016:

Indiana Pacers seeking iconic Game 7 win for first NBA championship
Few would have picked the Indiana Pacers to be in the NBA Finals at the start of the season. In fact, Kendrick Perkins claimed the Pacers wouldn’t reach the playoffs early in their campaign.
But they find themselves one win away from a historic NBA championship. Heading into the game, the nerves will be high, given what is at stake.
But the Pacers won’t be the only side under pressure. It would be a terrible look for the Thunder to have such a strong side and a great season, only to come up short at the final hurdle.
Losing to an unlikely Indiana Pacers team would be a devastating blow. In fact, Draymond Green believes the OKC Thunder might never win a championship if they lose Game 7.
With so much on the line for both sides, they are sure to play an urgent brand of basketball, which will make for excellent fan viewing.
Game 7 of the NBA Finals tips off tonight on ABC at 8 PM EST from the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
