The Athletic‘s Anthony Slater joined The Drive Guys, with Kevin “Whitey” Gleason and Kyle Draper, on Thursday afternoon to discuss the Sacramento Kings naming Doug Christie their head coach moving forward, where new general manager Scott Perry goes from here, and more.

As many have mentioned, Slater said he expects Perry and the Kings to pursue more of a “refresh” rather than tearing down the current roster and starting over. With top end talent including Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and DeMar DeRozan they have intriguing assets to work with.

Plus, how may the Christie decision impact how current rostered players, most notably Sabonis, feel about the organization moving forward?

Amick shared that, based on the conversations he had with agents that represent many of the coaches throughout the NBA, the impression was that the head coach vacancy was not an open position for interviews.
