The 2024-25 season is now officially in the books in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder winning their first title in franchise history. Despite winning a title as the Seattle SuperSonics back in 1979, this title is considered their first as they left their Seattle history there with the move to OKC.

The Philadelphia 76ers suffered through a miserable season as they finished 24-58 with the roster decimated by injuries and a lot of adversity. With the season now officially over, the Sixers can begin offseason business in an effort to bring back some key free agents.

Philadelphia can officially begin negotiating with their own free agents ahead of the official start of free agency on June 30. Those players are:

Quentin Grimes – restricted

Guerschon Yabusele – unrestricted

Kyle Lowry – unrestricted

Jeff Dowtin Jr. – restricted

Jalen Hood-Schifino – unrestricted

The priority for the Sixers headed into this offseason is to bring back Grimes. An acquisition at the deadline from the Dallas Mavericks, Grimes averaged 21.9 points in 28 games–starting 25 of them–and the Sixers want to bring him back as they believe he is a key piece next to Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey.

One has to wonder if the Sixers will have enough to keep both Grimes and Yabusele–another key piece of this group–so that will be something to keep an eye on over the next week as free agency begins to take shape. Either way, Philadelphia wants to bring back both in an effort to bounce back from a tough season.
