With the season now over, the offseason has officially begun and one team that could be busy this summer is the Denver Nuggets.

Denver is coming off a season in which they finished fourth in the Western Conference but were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year.

Now the Nuggets enter the offseason looking to upgrade their roster around their core of Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray as they chase a championship next season.

Of course, one of the first decisions the Nuggets needed to make entering the offseason was finding a replacement for general manager Calvin Booth, whom they fired late in the regular season along with head coach Michael Malone.

Denver did just that on Monday as ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that they are naming Ben Tenzer as the executive vice president of basketball operations and hiring Minnesota Timberwolves executive Jon Wallace as their new executive vice president of player personnel.

Charania also reported that both will report to Josh Kroenke, who is the president of the Nuggets and the owner’s, Stan Kroenke, son.

For Tenzer, he finished the 2024-25 season as the interim general manager for the Nuggets and he has now been promoted as the interim tag has been removed, much like Denver did with new head coach David Adelman.

On the other side, Wallace returns to Denver after he previously spent three years in the Nuggets’ front office before heading to Minnesota when former Nuggets’ general manager Tim Connelly left.

These are two major decisions by the Nuggets, especially with the 2025 NBA Draft just a few days away as they will now try to upgrade their roster around their core, led by Nikola Jokic, to try and compete for another title next season.
