The Philadelphia 76ers made a move at the deadline by acquiring Quentin Grimes from the Dallas Mavericks in an effort to get younger. Grimes, 25. showed off his scoring chops after the deadline with the Sixers as he averaged 21.9 points in those 28 games including 25 starts.

Unfortunately, Grimes was unable to guide the Sixers to the play-in as they were decimated by a ton of injuries, but his play showed off the potential that he can fit next to Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey for the future. However, the Sixers have to bring him back in free agency first.

Grimes is a restricted free agent so Philadelphia has to find a way to bring him back in order to keep things moving in the right direction again. Ahead of this free agency period, Grimes is back in the gym putting in some work in the gym.

With the 2024-25 season over after the Oklahoma City Thunder won the title, Grimes and the Sixers can now begin negotiating a deal ahead of free agency beginning on June 30. It is a new wrinkle in the CBA to begin getting things together for a team and its own free agents ahead of the actual period.
