With the 2025 NBA draft looming this week, the Sacramento Kings are reportedly interested in acquiring a first-round pick, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The Kings currently have only one draft selection, the 42nd pick in the second round. Their first-round pick was conveyed to the Atlanta Hawks (No. 13) as part of the Kevin Huerter trade, and their second-round pick (No. 45) was conveyed to the Chicago Bulls.

The Kings have expressed a desire to acquire a first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, league sources told HoopsHype. Amid those conversations, Sacramento has gauged the trade market on guards Malik Monk and Devin Carter, sources said.

With a new front office in place, the Kings are likely weighing all of their options ahead of the draft in an attempt to upgrade their roster. The group finished with a 40-42 record during the regular season, losing to the Dallas Mavericks in the 9-10 matchup of the play-in tournament.

Without a first-round pick, the Kings have hosted workouts with prospects projected to be available in the second round. They have brought in the likes of Koby Brea (Kentucky), Vladislav Goldin (Michigan), Caleb Love (Arizona), Tyrese Proctor (Duke) and Alex Toohey (NBL), among others.

The draft will feature a two-night format for the second consecutive year, with the first round scheduled for Wednesday and the second round for Thursday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
