NBA:

The Portland Trail Blazers have the 11th pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft tonight. The latest mock drafts show a few different directions they might go. Some have them looking at Carter Bryant, a forward, while others predict they could select Noa Essengue, another forward who’s impressed overseas. There’s also Collin Murray-Boyles from South Carolina, known for his defense. It appears the Blazers are focused on getting a do everything type player to their frontcourt, which could mean more moves in addition to Monday’s trade of Anfernee Simons for Jrue Holiday.

Also, yesterday forward Matisse Thybulle opted in for the final year of his three-year contract. He played just 15 games last season but is a two time all-defensive team player.

The Portland Trail Blazers are set to host an NBA Draft Block Party today. It’ll be held at the Rose Quarter Commons from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The Trail Blazers have the 11th pick in the draft. There’ll be music, games, and a photo booth. Fans can also enter to win raffle prizes. There will be plenty of food, snacks and drinks. Fans need to RSVP on the Trail Blazers website.

MLS:

The Timbers will be without a key contributor for the foreseeable future. Portland manager Phil Neville announced that Antony will miss the next six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury. He was hurt during the Timbers’ tie with San Jose on June 13. Antony leads Portland with six goals this season. The Timbers will be back in action Saturday on the road against Toronto FC.
