RAPID CITY, S.D. – After an outstanding career at Rapid City Stevens, Taaliyah Porter has decided to play NCAA Division I women’s basketball next year at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Last season, the Pioneers finished 9-20 overall and 5-15 in the conference.
The 5-foot-8 guard averaged 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists per game this past season for the Raiders.
Four months ago, Porter became the all-time leading scorer in Stevens girls basketball history, breaking the old mark of 1,417 points set by Becky Hammon.
Overall, she leaves Stevens with 1,667 career points, the most in school history.
