Sacramento Kings select Maxime Raynaud in 42nd pick of NBA Draft

The Sacramento Kings are getting some protection at the rim after the team selected Stanford’s Maxime Raynaud in the 42nd pick of the NBA Draft on Thursday. Paris-native Raynaud stands at 7 feet, 1 inch tall and was named the Pac-12 Most Improved Player of the Year during the 2023-24 season with Stanford. Raynaud averaged 12.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in 129 appearances over his four seasons at Stanford. But his averages last season were even better, coming in at 20.2 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 33.4 minutes per game over 35 games in the 2024-25 season.According to the NBA, Raynaud was the only NCAA Division I player to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds per contest. It earned him AP All-America Honorable Mention and All-ACC First Team honors.
