With the No. 9 overall pick in this year’s draft, the Toronto Raptors selected Collin Murray-Boyles from South Carolina. He boosted his stock by averaging 16.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this past season. After hearing his name called by NBA commissioner Adam Silver, he got out of his seat and immediately hugged his girlfriend.

Some fans were aware of Murray-Boyles’ love life prior to Wednesday’s draft. Others, however, were introduced to South Carolina women’s basketball star Chloe Kitts.

Kitts, an NCAA champion and SEC Tournament MVP, has been an exceptional player for Dawn Staley’s program. She finished the 2024-25 season averaging 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

In honor of her boyfriend’s special night, Kitts wore a stunning red dress that grabbed everyone’s attention.

“You know what. I want my team to draft Collin Murray Boyles for 1 reason & it ain’t his game,” another fan said. “It’s Chloe Kitts.”

“America, get ready to learn Chloe Kitts,” a third fan commented.

A few people were wondering if Kitts approved of her boyfriend’s NBA team, but she shut down all that speculation this Thursday with a simple selfie.

Murray-Boyles was asked about his relationship with Kitts during a press conference on Wednesday night. He had nothing but great things to say about their dynamic.

“She’s amazing for me,” Murray-Boyles told reporters. “She knows the sacrifices that come with being a bball player. She fully embraces it. I never take her for granted.”

Kitts should have her chance to go pro in the future. WNBA teams have to value her tenacity and consistency on the hardwood.

In the meantime, Kitts will get herself ready for another year at South Carolina.
