With the draft complete, teams are signing undrafted players to two-way contracts. It’s pretty much the equivalent of drafting in the second round, especially when you consider how many of these players sign two-ways in the second round anyways.

The Utah Jazz have done just that by signing RJ Luis Jr. out of St. John’s.

Luis was a high-level defensive player for St. John’s and brings a nice set of tools to the Jazz. He was 6’5.75” feet tall without shoes with a 6’10.5” wingspan. In his junior season, Luis averaged 32.8 MPG with 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 steals. He’s an all-around player who, if he can improve as a shooter, could become a nice piece for the Jazz. That’s something we say with a lot of these prospects, but time and again it does happen.

This likely ends the night for the Utah Jazz, who come away from the draft as big winners all around.
