The Los Angeles Lakers made a notable move for their roster once the second round of the NBA Draft concluded.
Without a pick in the first round of the NBA Draft, the LA Lakers raced to get into the action in round two. They traded up from 55 with Chicago to 45. And then they traded up with Minnesota Timberwolves at 36.
The Lakers took Arkansas’ Adou Thiero with 36, before making moves following the draft too.
After the draft the Lakers delved into the undrafted market, and came away with a steal, signing Villanova’s Eric Dixon.

Shams Charania reported the news, stating: “Villanova star Eric Dixon has agreed to a two-way NBA contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN.
“Dixon was the No. 1 scorer in college basketball last season, shooting 41% from 3-point range.”

Eric Dixon was undrafted
One of the reasons Dixon slid outside the second round was due to concerns over his defense, and this will be the key issue where he has to prove himself.
His three-point shooting is an obvious attraction, and the Lakers always need scorers. However, JJ Redick showed with how he benched Dalton Knecht through the playoffs, that he will not lean on a star if he can’t trust them defensively.
One of the reasons Dixon was undrafted was his age, 24. He was one of the oldest players in college basketball.
Dixon will play for the South Bay Lakers in Summer League and aim to earn a spot on the LA Lakers’ roster when the 2025-26 season commences.
But for now he has a chance to make an impact, and he will be determined to take it.
