Hepburn, who graduated from UofL and played for the Cards for one season, agreed to a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors. A two-way contract allows players to play in both the NBA and the NBA G-League; they are paid one salary for participation in both leagues.
Hepburn, the reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Year, averaged 16.4 points, 5.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game. He was ranked in the top 25 nationally in steals (ninth, 82) steals per game (ninth, 2.41), assists (19th, 198) and assists per game (24th, 5.8).
In addition to Louisville’s four draft picks in the last eight years, four other Cardinals have reached the NBA as undrafted free agents in the same time frame, including Deng Adel (Cleveland Cavaliers, 2018), Jaylen Johnson (Chicago Bulls, 2018), Mangok Mathiang (Charlotte Hornets, 2017) and Damion Lee (Atlanta Hawks/Golden State Warriors, 2017).
