Chase Hunter is getting his shot at the NBA.

The former Clemson guard announced on Instagram that he’s signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, giving him an opportunity to compete in training camp and possibly earn a two-way contract.

Hunter leaves Clemson after an impressive six-year run under Brad Brownell. He finished his career third all-time in scoring for the Tigers with 1,789 points and holds the program records for minutes played (4,576) and games played (167). He’s also among Clemson’s leaders in starts, field goals, threes, free throws and assists.

Last season, Hunter helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and was named first-team All-ACC. He started 33 games, shooting career-best marks from the field (47%), three-point range (40.7%) and the free throw line (86.6%) while putting up a personal best 16.5 points per game. His 561 points that year rank 15th in single-season school history.

Hunter was instrumental in Clemson’s Elite Eight run during the 2023-24 season, where he averaged nearly 18 points per game in the NCAA Tournament and shot 50% from the floor. He capped that stretch with All-West Region honors.

The Atlanta native arrived at Clemson as a four-star recruit out of Westlake High School, ranked among the top 100 prospects in the country.
