ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – It’s almost the end of June and more than 20 area high school boys’ basketball teams are playing games this weekend.
This is because they are part of 42 teams from throughout the Midwest to compete in the Chicagoland Summer Showcase. This is a chance for high schoolers to play in front of coaches and recruiters from roughly 20 colleges.
Friday was the first day of the event. It runs through Sunday at the UW Health Sports Factory in downtown Rockford.
